Dollywood

Dollywood

Thursday 8/12/21, Maddie, Meagan and I left our home in Columbia and headed North to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We had plans to go to Dollywood on Friday, then to Dolly’s water park on Saturday. Meagan secured an AirBnB that is a condo on the fifth floor of Golfview Condos, not too far from the main strip in Pigeon Forge.

Thursday morning, we packed up and left after Meagan and I both went to our respective gym classes that morning. Maddie and I cleaned her hamster cage litter, scooped the litter, picked up the house and prepared to leave when Meagan was finished with her gym class.

We left Thursday morning and stopped in Asheville for a late lunch before heading to Pigeon Forge.
I really enjoyed the Harmony Bowl for lunch in Asheville at the Laughing Seed Cafe.
Pulled over for a little view on the Parkway.
We stayed on the 5th floor of the Golf View Condominium. It was a really nice AirB&B.
Maddie loves some Baskin Robins ice cream
Waiting to get the trolley to take us from Lot C…”Like Cotton Candy” to the main entrance.
Maddie showed Meagan around in his cool old 40’s car ride.
Got a little soaked!
Our shoes got a little soaked on a second water ride, but it felt great in the heat of the day.
This was the first time riding the Eagle ride. We rode it back to back about 6 or 7 times because there was no wait time. It was my favorite.
She got the surfer hand waxed.
We were about to get soaked on our first ride! The water ride!
Love this perpetual motion ore-digging concept.
Dollywood had an awesome statue of this bald eagle.
I loved this graphic and history lesson. This was exactly how they lowered a big pine next to our patio at our old house. We had a 24″ pine tree that was between a rock and a hard place. I had a freshly poured concrete patio to the right and a long circle drive to the left. plus a neighbor’s yard behind me….not to mention our home that was just 40 feet away.
Meagan didn’t feel compelled to join Maddie and I on this ride. We dropped so fast. Felt like we were floating for a few seconds.
The sunsets from the 5th floor AirB&B balcony from the condo. They were amazing. Nothing like the Great Smokey Mountains!
