REFRIGERANTS HAVE NO ODOR | When a pungent odor is detected, typically a compressor burnout has contaminated the refrigerant. Compressors are the typically that unexpected component to go out that blows the budget when you least expect it.

#compressor is a mechanical device that compresses refrigerant vapor. It is similar to a pump that circulates the refrigerant in the system.

There are two important sides to a compressor:

1) Suction Side: a compressor creates low pressure by pulling the refrigerant vapor through the refrigerant line. The low-pressure vapor enters the suction line to the compressor.

2) Discharge Side: a compressor creates high pressure. The refrigerant vapor leaving the compressor is at a higher temperature and pressure than the vapor that entered the compressor.
