COOLING SYSTEM PRINCIPLES | A cooling system in the simplest definition moves heat from an area where it is undesirable to an area where the heat is acceptable…like outside the building. Cooling systems components include compressors, condensers, metering devices and evaporators.

TWO COMMON TYPES OF COOLING SYSTEMS:
1) direct-expansion systems (direct cooling systems)
2) chilled water systems (indirect cooling systems)

Small air conditioning systems use air as the “direct” medium. However, water transports heat more efficiently in larger facilities with less temperature loss over distances than air. Plus, piping used to transport water requires less space than ductwork for air systems.

A chilled water cooling system is where water is circulated to the building space for comfort. A #chiller makes that possible. Professional preventative maintenance to maximize uptime, reliability, and equipment longevity is key to successful building performance.
