Movie Industry Agents for Actors

10/3/21 Today, I have many questions about Alexander’s agent. Here are a few of my questions and mostly these are out of ignorance around the entire industry, but here are my thoughts and curiosities:

  1. I don’t understand at this point exactly how his agent gets paid; is it a percent of the deal? A flat fee per year? Royalties on future earnings?
  2. How did he get signed up to work with him?
  3. What does he actually do?
  4. How many other people is the agent working for currently?
  5. How many hours a week/month is he devoting to promoting him? What is the expectation?
  6. How does the arrangement look? Is it a written contract? Do you have a copy to share?
  7. Can he do projects without having the agent involved?
  8. I totally understand LA and Hollywood in general is just totally different and works in its own way. I’m trying to wrap my hand around it. I don’t understand why I haven’t heard the agent’s name mentioned more. Why isn’t the agent involved in the day to day operations to fill his plate with work?
  9. How often does he communicate with the agent?
  10. How did he first meet this agent?
  11. How does the process work when the agent wants to get him involved in a new project? What is the process?
  12. How long is the agent contracted to work with him?
  13. How long has the agent been working with him already?
  14. Which of the current active and prospective projects is the agent responsible for or will he get paid for?
  15. What happens if he decides that he wants a new agent one day?
  16. How much money/revenue has the agent brought him to-date?
