Director, Strategic Program Development

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop, maintain and implement plans to create partnerships in large scale charging network to support ChargePoint’s North American growth.
  • Directly engage with key commercial partners and support deal strategy as well as individual negotiations.
  • Provide research and reports to executive staff as necessary.
  •  Engage with large, multi-site property owners and businesses to pitch complex charging projects at various properties.
  •  Review financial models and work with customers or potential partners to clearly articulate the business case or impacts of investing in charging infrastructure.
  •  Work with internal legal counsel and property owners to negotiate and close contracts. 
  •  Record and track milestones to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Schedule weekly meetings and diligent follow-ups are required to ensure program related activities advance at all locations. 
  •  Provide the team with weekly updates on the pipeline in individual geographic territories
  •  This role requires at least 60% travel. 

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • You have a passion for vehicle electrification with a solid understanding of the automotive industry and electric vehicle charging dynamics. 
  •  Proven track record of closing deals with large, multinational organizations.
  •  Ability to work remotely, effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently.
  •  A diligent reporter that takes time to document activities with a proficiency using tracking tools such as SalesForce.com and other project tracking tools.
  •  Proven ability to converse with and persuade stakeholders at all levels of management, including C-suite.
  •  Strong business acumen with the ability to dive deep into decisions to understand economic impacts and ROI as well as market and competitive implications.
  •  Excellent analytical skills with the ability to understand and articulate payback models to customers

Requirements

  • B.S or M.S in Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or equivalent
  • 10+ years’ experience in sales and program management, preferably in retail, advertising, entertainment or commercial property development
  • Outstanding presentation, oral, written communications skills, and sales polish, with the ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally
  • Detailed tracking, reporting, and managing capabilities
  • Strong sales leader with a track record of successfully managing a team, good negotiation skills and ability tom influence internal relationships successfully.
  • Experience should include some of electrical engineering, construction management, telecommunications, information technology, software development, technical writing
