Hey Matt, I’m hearing no from Pedens replacement but I want to ask one more person in that department.

Hey Matt,
I just got off the phone with Conor. He gave me some bad news. Onyx has decided to completely pull the plug on South Carolina due to the way the leasing laws are written down there. Apparently the way it’s set up in SC is dangerous for the leasing companies. Onyx as a result has decided to move away entirely. This is unfortunate for us and I would love to see this go through so I am going to look for some other options. Conor will be following up with a little more detail.
Thanks!

I am now thinking we need to pitch Michelin of buying the canopy (with our financing) and leasing panels on top.

Matt,
I spoke with Peden Young at Onyx yesterday. Surprisingly, they are not doing very much in South Carolina. Even though they are registered, the lease program hasn’t been what they had hoped. Last he checked, there are 360 some odd lease projects registered in the state. All are residential. I believe that some commercial will be done since some applications are in review now with the utilities.
Onyx does not want to look at anything under 400KW. I mentioned to him about poultry houses and he said credit is an issue at times with those but there lowest end project at 400KW is a larger project for poultry. Michelin canopies are not good either. We also discussed the Farmers Market and as you mentioned from your contact at Onyx, they will not touch tax exempt folks with a lease.
Not so great news but good information moving forward.
