How was I going to put all of the little businesses into one? I needed an umbrella company. I had been hearing other conglomerates roll up to one main parent company.
Recently, when cleaning up old files, I came across an email from age 14 when I had decided on a solution. I created WarrenVentures@hotmail.com and had the idea of calling it Warren Ventures. That would work to be main company.
Merriam-Webster defines conglomerate when in terms of an adjective as “made up of parts from various sources or of various kinds” (source https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/conglomerate); when defined as a noun: a widely diversified corporation; example- “an international conglomerate of some 350 businesses.” I love how one of the synonym words for conglomerate is “empire”. I believe that is what I was imagining, even at such an early age.
Cambridge Dictionary defines conglomerate as “as company that owns several smaller businesses whose products or services are usually very different.
