How I Knew Our Next Car Was Priced Just Right

This month, Meagan and I purchased a Yukon. Over the last 6 months to a year, I have kept this spreadsheet going of possible vehicles that we have liked and the important details like year, make model, price, mileage, etc. When we were finally ready to go and look at a car because of some recent expensive repairs on our 260,000 mile Tahoe, when we saw this Yukon, we knew it was priced right. I sorted our spreadsheet by the mileage and the price was right in the middle of the pack. The year was in the right range. The Yukon was even a Denali! So, we pulled the trigger and took a wad of cash.

We took $6,000 for our Tahoe and were happy. The lady paid in cash. I was asking $6325. I probably could have gotten more for it, but I am happy to be done with it and she came to us. I didn’t have to travel or take off work to sell it. First person who looked at it, bought it.
We knew it wasn’t in “Very Good” condition…in our opinion.
