HOW TO KEEP AC DRAIN LINES FROM CLOGGING? | Last week I snapped this photo in an industrial facility breakroom. Ever seen this before? The drain pan under the air handler had overflowed and caused $$$ property damage. Drain pan treatment and proper quarterly preventative maintenance is the solution here.

Drain pan treatment:
* Prevents Drain Pan Overflows.
* Helps Prevent Drain Pan Corrosion.
* Eliminates Foul Drain Pan Odors.
* Maintains Free Flowing Drains.
* Improves Indoor Air Quality “IAQ”

Often, materials such as rust and slime (as well as bacteria) can build up in the condensate drain pan, clogging the drain and causing it to potentially overflow.

Condensate drain pans must be effectively treated & maintained with condensate drain line cleaner tablets. This will dissolve the rust and slime, in order for it to drain smoothly and to prevent potentially dangerous bacteria from being introduced into the facility through the ducts.

Proper quarterly preventative maintenance includes making sure drain lines are thoroughly cleaned out, not just at the P-trap, but the whole line! Plus, part of proper PM includes making sure to treat the drain pan with appropriate amounts of tablets to prevent and dissolve slime and rust. This will ensure efficient drainage action and minimize expensive property damage due to leaks under air handler units.

These damages are easily preventable and avoidable. There is a better way.
